MaryAnn Ernst

Mary Ann Ernst, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on May 20th, 2023, surrounded by family and her closest friend Jackie Waxler. She was 76 years old.

Mary Ann was born on February 16th, 1947, in Moorhead, MN, to Raymond and Myrtle Pender. After graduating from Barnesville High School, Mary Ann married her High School Sweetheart, Dennis Ernst, and together they worked on the family farm. She was also the proud owner of Village Specialties Gift Shop in Barnesville and was a successful Mary Kay salesperson.

Mary Ann was a woman of many passions. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching baseball games, and visiting the lakes to fish and enjoy the beauty of nature. She was also a talented artist, and her paintings are still displayed today all around the world.

Mary Ann was a devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She had an infectious smile and a warm and caring personality, which made her loved by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Myrtle Pender, and her daughter, Lauree Miller (Ernst). She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis, son, Darin, and grandchildren, Lacey (Cody) Johnson, Dustin Ernst, Cody Ernst, and Sean Miller, as well as great-grandchildren Jace Krauth, Sawyer Johnson, Aidan Johnson, and Sebastian Ernst.

Mary Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched. A celebration of her life will be held at the Mainline Bar and Grill in Downer, MN, on Sunday, June 4th, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Rest in peace, Mary Ann Ernst.
