MaryAnn Remme, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023, at Bethany on 42nd, under the compassionate care of Ethos Hospice. Surrounded by her loving family, MaryAnn was called to heaven at the age of 80.

Born on October 11, 1943, MaryAnn was born to Otto and Emma Siegert. She grew up in Hillsboro, North Dakota, and received her education at Hillsboro High School. On September 2, 1966, MaryAnn was united in marriage to Richard Remme, embarking on an adventurous journey of marriage for over 51 years.

MaryAnn dedicated seventeen years of her life as a valued member of the team at Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota and Svee Rehabilitation Home. Other employment included The Medicine Shoppe and Beverage Wholesalers.

Outside of her professional endeavors, MaryAnn found delight in the company of her family and friends. Her passion for preserving precious moments and memories led her to embrace scrapbooking as a creative outlet. As an avid reader, MaryAnn found solace in the written word of many novels. MaryAnn and Richard experienced tranquility and joy on the shores of Lake Maud. They spent 43 years at “Remme’s Restful Retreat”. She held the memories of bringing their daughters and grandchildren to the lake very dear to her heart. She was a devoted grandmother and never missed any of her grandchildren’s events.

MaryAnn is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Kevin) Opdahl and Kelly McIntyre; grandchildren Patrick Opdahl, Marisa Opdahl, and Sierra McIntyre; sister-in-law Ruth Siegert; brother-in-law George Remme; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents, Otto and Emma; sisters Elaine Sayre and Rosie Jacobs; and brother Marvin Siegert.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bethany on 42nd and Ethos Hospice for the wonderful care provided to MaryAnn.
