Matthew Meyer

Matthew Rodney Meyer passed away Monday, December 23rd at St. Alexius in Bismarck, ND after a short battle with cancer.

Matthew was born June 30, 1975 to Rodney and Jeanne Meyer at the Hillsboro Community Hospital, in Hillsboro, ND. Matt was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, attended Hillsboro Elementary and Hillsboro High School, and graduated with the class of 1993. In school, Matt was active in wrestling and band. After graduating, he attended NDSU for several years, where he continued his love of music by playing in the NDSU Gold Star Marching Band.

Matt had many different jobs throughout his career and was always known as an extremely hard worker. He was a driver for Aggregate Industries in Fargo for several years. After he worked several different construction and concrete jobs. His favorite job, however, was the time he spent working for the Mueller’s on their farm in
Hillsboro.

Matt was a person that always went above and beyond to help if people asked him. He liked to spend his time when he was younger golfing, fishing, skiing, and spending time at the family lake cabin. Matt was born with the gift of gab and didn’t have a problem striking up conversation with anyone he met.

Matt is survived by his mom, Jeanne Meyer, Hillsboro, ND; son Garrett Meyer and his mom Kari Decker, Fargo, ND; brothers Nate Meyer, Omaha, ND; and
Christopher Meyer, Hillsboro, ND; as well as his sister Amanda Meyer, Moorhead, MN; niece and nephew Claire and Sam Meyer, Omaha, NE; Aunts and Uncles, Joanne Watson, Apple Valley, MN; Dan and Bonnie Swenson, Crookston, MN; and Duane and Vickie Swenson, Independence, MN.

He was preceded in death by father Rodney Meyer, grandparents Gilbert and Eunice Meyer Hillsboro, ND; and Don and Theresa Swenson of Crookston, MN; and his cousin Michael Swenson, Crookston MN.
