Maxine Hilburn, 74, of Fargo, passed away on Thursday, at her home in Fargo.

 Maxine L. Hilburn was born in New York on April 21, 1937 to Joseph and Myra Ohrenstine. Maxine spent many years in Africa with the Peace Corp. On August 30, 1969 she married Kenneth Hilburn in Blantyre Malawi. Ken died in 2001. Maxine worked for the Fargo Public Library for 15 years and retired in 2011. Maxine had just completed coarses so that she could do volunteer work for the rape and abuse center. She is survived by her 2 Maine Coon Cats, Fairie and Pooh Bear. Maxine will be laid to rest in the Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, North Dakota. Rest in Peace Maxine.

    I enjoyed working with Maxine when she was the Children’s Librarian at the Fargo Public Library. She would probably appreciate this quote from one of my favorite authors, Dr. Seuss ~
