Merle F. Sorum

Merle F Sorum (89) passed away peacefully in Fargo on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
Merle was born on September 29, 1933, to Harry and Edith (Boeddeker) Sorum in Hillsboro, ND. Merle lived the majority of his life in Hillsboro until 1988 when he moved to Fargo after his retirement from Sorum Oil Company. He was a veteran and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his children, Deb (Steve) Kroger of Piedmont, SD, Brad (Jode) Sorum of Hillsboro, ND, Greg Sorum of Minneapolis, MN, and stepchildren, Mike (Jane) Sandsmark of Plymouth, MN, Tom Sandsmark of Estero, FL, and Anne Sandsmark of Wesley Chapel, FL, two sisters, Maureen (Dale) Metz, West Fargo, ND, and Melva (Dale) Engel of Eugene, OR. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Betty Talmo Sorum and Billie Sandsmark Sorum and grandson Brian Sorum.
A celebration of Merle’s life will be held later in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
