Michael McGeehan, age 59 of Fargo ND, passed away on March 29, 2023 due to complications from lung cancer.

Michael Albert McGeehan was born on April 1, 1963 in St. Paul, MN to Thomas and Ellen (Williams) McGeehan. He was raised in Moorhead, spending summers at the childhood family lake home on Island Lake. Mike attended Moorhead Senior High School and was active in hockey.

After high school he spent his entire career as a tile and stone setter. His true joy was fishing, hunting and being on the lake with family and friends. Michael will always be remembered for the twinkle in his eye, his soft smile, quiet demeanor and quick wit.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Tristan McGeehan, Fargo ND, Alli Schauff, Verndale, MN, Brooke McGeehan, Tucson Arizona; mother, Ellen (Steve) House, Moorhead MN; stepmother, Sharon McGeehan, Fargo ND; sister, Shawn (Ozzie) Peraza, Kindred, ND; brothers, Patrick McGeehan, Fargo, ND, Timothy (Victoria) McGeehan, Knoxville, TN; stepbrother, Michael Abrahamson, Seattle, WA; and four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McGeehan; and brother, Richard McGeehan.

We would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Daniel Almquist, Dr. Ash Jensen and all the staff who cared for Michael at Roger Maris Cancer Center.

  3. How can I even begin to say what an important part of my life you were. I’ll never forget the day I met you. It was at micks office in moorhead. Pat and I were sitting there having of course a bud light! You walked in and instantly we were friends ever since. You knew me better than anyone Mikey. I still can’t believe you are gone….. The Fred Flintstone dance, Charley the quail in the bottom of the fridge and better than that? Miami Vise and Don Johnson….. uff da…..” eat a pork chop Bjerke!” I’ll love you till forever Mike.
