June 13, 1951 ~ May 3, 2023

Born in: El Paso, TX
Resided in: Fargo, ND

Michael Arthur Jensen was born in El Paso, TX on June 13, 1951 to proud parents, Clifford (Cliff) and Shirley (nee Foucault) Jensen. He grew up in Kindred, ND and was a gifted high school athlete. Mike served, with honor, in both the United States Marine Corps and Army, and was stationed in Germany and Okinawa. He returned to the Fargo/Kindred area and worked with NSP and Cass County Electric.

Upon retirement, Mike built a small cabin on the Jensen farmstead, north of Kindred, where he lived a simple, quiet life. Mike will be remembered as someone who enjoyed his solitude but would extend a hand to a friend in need. Mike had a tremendous love for all animals, and he opened his heart and home to numerous animals over the years – especially his “baby”, Dolly.

Mike passed away quietly on May 3, 2023. He is survived by siblings: James Jensen (Peggy), David Jensen (Michele) and Heidi Gohdes (Steve). The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the entire, amazing staff at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo and to Ethos Hospice for their loving care and support. Also, a special thank you to Ron E. for his support of Mike & Dolly.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I heard about Mike recently. He was a teammate and classmate that I loved. Certainly, I offer my condolences to all of Mike’s friends and his entire family. I’ve always had a warm place in my heart for Mike.

  2. I am so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was my knight in shining armor one night in high school when my brother Bruce left me with no ride home. He found me swinging in the park. (no cell phones then!). He was a quiet gentleman and forever my hero.

  3. Mike was a great guy! I worked with Mike at Cass County Electric and have many fond memories of conversations held. I will remember Mike for his sense of humor, friendliness, work ethic, and his absolute love of animals and his pets. Rest in Peace Mike!!!

  4. I too went to Kindred High School and just a bit younger than Mike, but remember him well. especially in the athletic field. Thank you Mike for your service to our country and your love for animals. I would say RIP but Id rather say “kick some butt” up there in Heaven !! Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends .

  5. Rest in peace dear classmate. So many fun memories of our school years together. Sympathies to the entire family!

  6. Wow, Mike was the definition of cool in high school. He came into the class of 1969’s lives in fourth grade if I remember right. A leader both on the field of competition and off. A consummate teammate with loads of athleticism. We had some good times cruising Elm Street in Kindred in his Chevelle with the “327”. Jim, Dave, and Heidi, I mourn with you and all my best to all your family in.

  7. Rest In Peace, Mike. We met in 1974 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO while receiving training for Combat Engineer and discovered that we had mutual friends from ND. We linked up again a few years later at NDSU and I have many fond memories from riding in his MG or just hanging out, playing pool, having a beer. Mike always paved his own path and I was happy to be along for the ride at times.

  8. Expressing sympathies to the family of Mike Jensen. Sharing in your time of loss. Many good memories of Mike from the High School sports days. Along with Mike’s brother Jim. Whom was a Co-Captain with myself in Varsity Football our senior year.

  9. I have a lot of fun memories of Mike during high school at Kindred High and later at NDSU and the TKE house. I will always remember him.

  10. I worked with Mike many years at Cass County Electric taking care of his locating vehicles. He was a good man and usually had a good story or two about riding his Harley. I can still hear his bike roar away at the end of the day to enjoy his evening festivities. Rest in peace Mike, from a Brother Marine. As we say Semper Fi

  11. Mike, throughout the early 2000’s I remember some great times, mostly at Speck’s and in your south Fargo backyard parties . Your motorcycle was one of a kind, just like you and your signature beard. We will toast one for you and will always remember you.
    Andy and Jana

  12. Rest in peace Mike. We met at the NDSU TKE house in Fargo back in 1973. So many memories throughout the years with our mutual friend Warner Huss. Mike was a standup guy, loyal friend, the best kind of friend. Lots of laughs, playing pool, rides out to the farm, Kindred, shooting his black powder rifle, rides in the MG. You will be missed!

  13. I just heard of your passing today and it made ,my heart hurt. Thank You for the laughs, the gag gifts, and the giving each other a bad time back and forth, the Breakfast Clubs and all of the fun times at Speck’s. Rest Easy Up There.

  14. I met Michael when he moved into bethany, I worked in the pharmacy, where Michael stopped regularly to buy a case of peanut cups&many, many gifts for other residents, where he nearly bought our inventory(a couple of times)donating many items for the Christmas shopping event for the residents to buy gifts for loved ones.
I knew instantly that he was a generous, kind, gentle man, he was gonna be one of my buddies, my co workers would tease(one lf my boyfriends) And he was, it always made my day to see him, say hi& see how things were going. I am so glad I got to meet you and add you to my list of “boyfriends”
    RIP Michael!
    my condolences to his family&friends.
