Michael Joseph Kasprowicz, age 72, of Moorhead, Minnesota, passed away at his home on February 5, 2025. He was born on January 24, 1953, in Greenbush, Minnesota, to Ludvig and Dorothy (Chrzanwoski) Kasprowicz.

Mike was born and raised in Greenbush, Minnesota and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1971. On February 12, 1982, Michael married Susan Peterson of Twin Valley, Minnesota and they made their home in Moorhead, Minnesota where they raised their three children. Mike spent countless hours with his children playing basketball in their driveway, supporting them in their activities, and sharing his love of golf. If Mike wasn’t in the backyard having his kids hit golf balls into buckets, then they were at the golf course riding around with Dad learning the game. If the summer heat was too much for the golf course, he could be found starting a neighborhood water fight.

A dedicated professional, Mike worked in Golf Course Maintenance in South Carolina and later as the Superintendent at the Moorhead Country Club, pouring his heart into his labor. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for ice fishing and golfing, pursuits that brought him around the United States and immense joy. An avid racing enthusiast, Mike delighted in attending sprint car and drag races, where he found both excitement and camaraderie. He also never missed a morning of stopping at M&H Gas Station for his morning coffee.

He was a remarkable handyman, skilled in fixing anything, and took great pride in maintaining his lawn, reflecting his love for gardening and nature. Above all, Mike valued the time spent with family and friends, creating bonds that will be remembered forever. He enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and they often couldn’t pass by without him opening his front door and inviting them in to visit. In recent years Mike proudly kept watch over the block where he lived, something we are sure all of his neighbors appreciated.

As his family grew and his children got older, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. They brought him immense joy and they will forever hold tight to the memories of Grandpa Mike.

He is survived by his wife Susan, Moorhead, MN; children, Emily (Shane) Evert, Eric (Darcy) Kasprowicz, Andy (Megan) Kasprowicz, Brandy Wensloff, Bethany Vincent, Kim Brichacek, Paul Kasprowicz; siblings, Allen Kasprowicz, Kathy Kasprowicz, Jina Lund many nieces, nephews and his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Tim Kasprowicz, Jennifer Blashill, Jeanine Stromgren and Bruce Stromgren.

  3. So sorry to hear of Mike leaving us all to soon. We were good buddies in high school and had so many adventures together. Dorothy tried to keep us in line but sometimes we strayed! the Kasprowicz family was like a second family to me and I will never forget the times we had. We scattered through the years, but I always hoped I would see him again and reconnect our friendship. When he moved back to the Fargo area I looked him up and we visited again once more about old times and reminisced about what we had done. We both had stories!! My deepest sympathies to Susan and all of Mikes Kids. My only hope is that some day I will see you again my friend. Rest in Peace Mikey!
