Michael Lilly

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Lilly. This is a completely unexpected loss and our family is devastated by his passing. Michael Eugene Lilly, 45, of Fargo, ND, passed away on April 9th. Born in Fort Wayne, IN to John and Catherine Lilly. Michael loved cars and chose to pursue this passion by attending the University of Northwestern Ohio with a focus on high performance automotive technology after graduating from Concordia Lutheran High School in 1995. Michael’s impressive career in the automotive industry, including his current employment with Gateway Chevrolet, was only overshadowed by his love and dedication to his family. In 2003, he married Barbara and soon their family grew to include three amazing children. He was an ever-present, supportive, loving, generous, and fun father. He provided a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and a contagious smile. He shared his love of cars, football, and being on the water with his family. His sense of humor and fun-loving spirit will be forever remembered. Michael was predeceased by his father, John. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children Abigail, Zachary, and Bailey, his mother Catherine, and brothers, Matthew and Nicholas, their spouses and children. The family is grateful for all the love, prayers and support during this difficult time. Services to be held at a later date in Indiana

  9. Mike thank you for being a great friend! Family was the most important thing in this world to you without a doubt! I can’t even imagine you and your family being apart from each other. I appreciate how you always included your coworkers and myself as your second family.
All of your actions each and everyday displayed your selflessness. While you left this life too early… I have no doubt it is because you knew how to be more considerate, compassionate, and display complete selflessness to others, the rest of us just need more time to learn from your examples. You are a few steps further down the road that we all must take. I know you will make that road the best that you can for all of us. Never stop smiling… never!

  10. Barbara and children: I met you guys once, but I had the joy of being able to work with Mike every day. He always had a smile, and I could always tell when he was nearby because I could always hear his laugh from the next room after he’d said something funny. His laughter is something that will always be in my heart, and I’m sure that and so many more great things will always be in yours. God always seems to want the great ones early. I pray for you guys every day to find peace. It will get easier, but he will always be missed greatly and his memory will always live on. God bless you Lilly family.
