Michelle M. Ross

michelle m. ross
Michelle Nelson Ross of Fargo passed away quietly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20 at her home. Michelle was born January 24, 1967 to Patricia Arneson Heggan and Stuart Moen of Mayville, ND. She was the eldest of six children. At the age of 23, Michelle met Tim Ross of Fargo. It was love at first sight and they were married just six months later in October of 1990. They welcomed their first son, Cullen, their pride and joy in June of 1992. In August of 1993, their princess, Madison was born. The perfect family. But, they didn’t stop there. In October of 1995, their little “doodle bug” Caleb joined their family. Never a dull moment after he arrived. And last, but not least, in May of 1999 the sweetest baby boy, Hayden was born. Michelle received her college degree from University of Minnesota Crookston. Although she had all the talent in the world, she opted to be a stay-at-home mother. Her children were her life and she spent every day loving and spoiling them. She found great joy in any opportunity to give gifts. Christmas and Birthdays were her favorite. Michelle had a huge heart and would do just about anything for anybody when asked. She loved volunteer opportunities. Michelle was known around town for the awesome aerobic classes she taught. She always left participants smiling and dripping with sweat! Michelle also ran a home day care for many years. Most of the children were like her own, continuing to keep in contact with her to this day. Michelle enjoyed making everything pretty and loved to listen to blasting music. She loved flowers, gardening, animals and her children dearly. She knew God’s purpose for her life was to make others smile, laugh and feel loved. Michelle is survived by her four adoring children, Cullen, Madison, Caleb and Hayden and Tim Ross, her loving husband of 20 years and great friend for the last six. She leaves behind many that she called friends throughout the years. There will be a celebration of Michelle’s life on Monday, September 26 at Nativity Catholic Church in Fargo. The memorial service will be at 2:30 PM with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at a later date. A special thanks to Mary Kay Schott for the kind compassion she has shared with Michelle’s family.

Although we lost contact with Michelle we will always remember what a dear person she was.

  13. I will never forget Michelle. I had the honor of working with her at both Macy’s and Victoria’s Secret. Michelle was the type of person who would always leave a smile on your face and leave you laughing for hours.

While working at VS, I found out I was pregnant with twins and terrified. I was a young, single mom and had no idea what to expect. Michelle found out that I was expecting, and the next time I saw her during her shift, she came running up to me, with her big ol smile and gave me the biggest hug ever! She was so excited for me and new that everything would work out, and she was right. She bought me a book while I was pregnant, and I still have that book with me today, 8 1/2 years later. I definitely will never forget her!!

She would talk about her children always, you 4 were the biggest joy of her life. She loved to brag about you for hours. My heart aches for you all during this time. She will be missed.

  25. We are very sorry for your loss. May our Almighty father of tender compassion give you comfort during this difficult time. He is close to the brokenhearted and will not leave you during your time of mourning. We pray you find comfort in the words found in John 5:28&29 and know all promises written in the Holy Scriptures will be fulfilled, including the resurrection hope.

  26. To the entire Ross family … I am so sorry for your loss. Although it’s been a few years since I have seen Michelle frequently, I wanted to share a memory that always comes to my mind when I think of her.

Years ago, when Caleb and my son Alex played on the same summer recreational baseball team, they were in need of a coach. No one stepped forward, even as of the first day of practice. Michelle was quick to volunteer at that point. I remember her saying that she knew nothing about baseball but that she will willing to learn! By the next meeting, Michelle had purchased a book about baseball and a brush to dust off home plate. She wasn’t afraid to make a mistake or have anyone laugh at her inexperience. She just wanted to be sure that her son and his team had a coach. And she was such a great, positive presence. You could tell that she would do just about anything for her kids.

I’ve been smiling at this memory of Michelle for the past few days, and I can only imagine all the wonderful memories that you will keep with you forever. Praying for you all. Also, please know that Michelle will be remembered in prayer by the Shanley community during our memorial Mass in November.

  27. I am so sorry to hear of Michelle’s passing. Sending prayers 🙏🏼. to her children and the Heggen family! I remember when she first moved to Argyle, I thought Michelle was so beautiful! She was happy and always smiling. God bless you in your time of loss and sorrow. 💐
