Mildred passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 94.

Mildred Beatrice Wiger was born to Gerhard and Augusta (Jacobsen) Wiger on June 4, 1915 at Boyne Lake, Manitoba, Canada, where her father took a homestead. The family returned to North Dakota in 1921. Mildred was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. She was united in marriage to Dunbar McSparron on June 4, 1940 when she joined the Presbyterian Church. Mildred was a very active member of the Grandin Presbyterian Church as well as over a 50-year member of the Happy Hour Homemaker's Club. Dunbar and Mildred farmed in Bohnsack Township for many years until their retirement on October 6, 1991. After their retirement they made their home in Fargo until moving to Kelleher Manor in Hillsboro in October of 2000. Dunbar passed away on February 26, 2001.

Mildred is survived by her son, Daryl (Bette) McSparron of Grandin, ND; her daughter, Linda (Don) Cochrane of Burnsville, MN; her grandchildren - Lisa (Mark) McSparron-Billman, Brett (Belinda) McSparron, Kurt McSparron, Christine Cochrane, Drew (Gretchen) Cochrane, and Heather (Nick) Vinje; and her great grandchildren - Christopher (Christina) McSparron, Brittnye McSparron, Taylor McSparron, Shane McSparron, Joshua Cochrane, Margaret Cochrane, Jack Vinje, and Owen Vinje; and many other very dear relatives.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Dunbar; her brothers, Orville, Gordon, and Willis; and her sister, Grace Porter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Hillsboro Medical Center, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or to the Grandin Presbyterian Church.
