Muriel H. Crocker, 95, Fargo, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Sanford Health surrounded by her loving family.

Muriel Helen Crocker was born to Anton “Tony” and Thelma Brazda on February 15, 1917 in Mandan, North Dakota.  She graduated from Mandan High School.  Shortly thereafter, she went to work at the Morton County Courthouse, where she worked for many years.  She met Vernon L. “Len” Crocker and they were married July 3, 1948.  They were married 30 years before his death in 1978.  She loved to hunt and fish in and around the Bismarck-Mandan area as well as go swimming in the Missouri River.

Muriel was very involved at Holy Spirit Church.  She also worked at Holy Spirit School for 37 years as both a substitute teacher and office secretary.  Father Smith often pointed to the principals and said, “They may have the titles, but she’s the one that runs this school.”  Upon her retirement, she stayed active with the church, she enjoyed playing bridge and became involved with Hospice of the Red River Valley.

She always loved spending time at the lakes with her sons and their families.  She especially enjoyed going to Pelican Lake and spending time with the Melicher family.  Lyle was one of her favorite people.

Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Thelma; husband, Len; and her brother, Art, Carencro, LA.

She is survived by sons, David (Jeanne), Virginia Beach, VA and Mark, Fargo; David’s sons, Ben, Arlington, VA and Eric (Rebecca), Chesapeake, VA; Mark’s sons, Max (Tanya)and Alex.  Also, her favorite little man, Max and Tanya’s son, Domnick, all of Fargo.
