Murray Barhorst, 66, of Fargo, ND, left us on May 25th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Hospice. Born on May 28th, 1958, in North Minneapolis to George and Mary (Weber) Barhorst, Murray grew up in Crosby, Minnesota, where he created countless memories.
He spent 16 years at Reed’s Market in Cross Lake, Minnesota, where he became a familiar face and friend to many. Murray had a passion for the great outdoors—camping, fishing, and a little racing on the side—always with his family by his side.
In his later years, he and his beloved wife, Elaine, retired to Fargo, where they enjoyed their time together. Murray leaves behind Elaine, his wonderful daughters Patty (Andy) Fonda, Lynnette (Travis) Schuldt, and Sara Barhorst, along with his cherished grandchildren, Austin and Briauna, who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Murray’s life will be held in the coming days. We invite friends and family to join together to honor the spirit of a man who truly loved life. Details about the service will be shared soon. Until then, let us carry forward the love he shared with us all. Rest in peace, Murray. You will be missed but never forgotten.
The family will be having a celebration of life for Murray on August 9th at Crosby Memorial Park.
My neighbor, Murray, was just the kind of neighbor anyone would want. He was friendly, kind, and helpful. To his friends and family, I am sorry for your loss.
