Myrtle Mahoney

Myrtle C. Mahoney, age 83 of Fargo, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 in her home. Myrtle Catherine Walker was born on March 7, 1922 in Norma, North Dakota to John and Catherine (Rudolph) Walker. She attended many grade schools due to her father?s work on the Soo Line Railroad, graduating from Nekoma High School. She married Gilbert B. Smith on January 19, 1940. To this union three sons were born, Gil, Jr., John Raymond and Thomas Arthur. The family lived in Starkweather, Hampden and Devils Lake, and moved to Fargo in February 1969. She married Lyle O. Mahoney on March 13, 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gilbert and Lyle and 3 brothers, Leo, Orville and Donald. She is survived by her children, Gilbert (Connie) Smith of Devils Lake, ND, Jack (Dixie) Smith of Fargo, Thomas (Gloria) Smith of North Branch, MN and Barbara (Dave) Olson of Fargo; 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 11:00 am in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church and also on Wednesday from 5-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Arrangements with Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
