Nancy Jo passed from this life on July 28, 2026, at HIA Hospice Heather’s House, following a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Come celebrate her life with us from 1 – 3 PM Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Avalon Events Center in Fargo. A short service will begin at 1 PM followed by a gathering until 3 PM.

I grew up with Nancy on 19th Ave and later reconnected when she and Pudge moved back to care for her parents. Everyone will tell you what a blessing she was for the neighborhood and my family will be forever grateful for the help and friendship she provided for my mom. Nancy is one-in-a-million and will truly be missed.
Nancy!! Truly the best neighbor and friend I could ask for. The way she cared for her parents, her animals, her neighbors and anyone she met was unbelievable. She was a bright soul!! I miss her every day.
Nancy and I worked together when she joined the staff at the Mandan Community Center in Mandan ND in 1982 shortly after she graduated from NDSU. We remained in touch over the years and rekindled our friendship when we moved back to Fargo in retirement and she moved back to care for her parents. She was a delightful person, a kind soul, and always quite hilarious when she shifted into “humor gear.” We were at a coffee shop one time, and she got up to go pick up her order. I said, “No, Nancy, they called out ‘Edith’.” She said, “I know, this morning I am Edith to them. They don’t need to know my real name!” I will miss you, dear Nancy.
🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
I played softball with Fish for many, many years. You could not have asked for a kinder, more fun friend…or a better softball player—-man, that girl had an arm! When we both left Mandan we always stayed in touch, and I will forever be grateful for her friendship. She was one of a kind — such a GOOD person, and I will miss her.
Rest in Peace Nancy ❤️
