Naomi Alice West found peace on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Fargo, ND, with her beloved family at her side. She was 86 years old.

Naomi was born March 9, 1940, in Rugby, ND, to Jacob and Ida (Bowles) Muffenbier. She married Michael Lawrence and together they had seven children, living in Crookston, MN.

On March 9, 1990, Naomi married John West and they resided in Fargo.

Her legacy is one of unyielding kindness and generosity. Among her most significant accomplishments was raising her seven children. Her pride and joy were her eight grandchildren who she loved dearly.

Naomi’s loss is deeply felt by her family and all those that knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those lives she touched.

Naomi is survived by her husband John West; children Susan, Debi, Greg, Jeff, David, Robert, and Cherie; and nine grandchildren Jacquelyn, Noah, Peyton, Joshua, Christian, Aliyah, Jillian, Jaydn, and Teddy.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Ida.

Naomi’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the hospice staff at Heather’s House by acknowledging their compassion, professionalism, and support during a difficult time when they needed it most.

Friends are invited to say their final goodbye to Naomi. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, with visitation an hour prior, at Nativity Catholic Church in Fargo. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with visitation one hour prior.
