Norma Plath
January 27, 1928 ~ December 15, 2010
Norma Solvae Plath, 82, Davenport, ND, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, after a short bout with cancer.
Norma (Laske) Plath was born on January 27, 1928 near Leonard, ND to Art & Gunhild (Grant) Laske. She attended grade school at Maple River School and high school at Leonard, ND. She also attended Moorhead State College. While in high school Norma met Don Plath and they married on October 4, 1947. They moved to the family farm in rural Davenport where they lived full time until retiring from farming in 1991. After retiring, Norma and Don enjoyed their summers at Lake Lida near Vergas, MN and their winters in Las Vegas, NV.
Norma was a very crafty woman. She loved to quilt, knit and crochet. She shared her many finished projects with family and friends. Norma was active in the Bethel Moravian Church, homemakers, card club, pot luck group & Quilters Guild of North Dakota.
Norma is survived by her four children; Curt (Joy) Plath, Enderlin ND, Jim (Karen) Plath, Davenport ND, Greg (Bonnie) Plath, Kindred ND, Nancy (Gary) Heyd, Horace ND, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and also her brother Carl Laske, Las Vegas NV.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don.

We had hoped to attend the funeral, but considering the weather and our age, we decided against the long trip.
We will miss cousin Norma at Lake Lida. We have many memories of Don and Norma over theyars, as well as many wonderful memories of her parents, Art and Gunholde Grant Laske.
Norma was a wonderful lady. She was a good hostess, and always welcomed company at her cottage.
Love to her children and grandchildren. We will grieve with you all, not because of her because she is in a better place now with Don, but we grieve with you for our loss of such a fine friend and relative. Con and Marie

“Serenaded by angels, up to the throne
Serenaded by angels, finally at home
Surrounded by praises, to the King
Welcome to Paradise, the angels did sing”. Words to a song by Kirk Talle. This was sung at my Mom’s funeral and the words just bring a feeling of peace knowing that she is with loved ones.

We will miss Grandma Norma very much. Especially Pat, since she was one of the very few women who thought he is attractive.
Although we didn’t see her very often, just knowing she was out there with her wit and wisdom was a joy. She maybe didn’t appreciate my kids calling her Grandma Norma since they referred to Don as Uncle Don, but I hope she thought it was a term of great love, because it was.
