Orville M. Dukleth, 80, Fargo,ND formerly of Hendrum, MN, died December 22, 2022 at home surrounded by family under the care of Hospice.

Orville was born in Halstad, MN on November 6, 1942 to Oliver and Violet (Ackerlund) Dukleth. He attended school in Hendrum, graduating in 1960. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church. In December of 1960, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He spent the next four years on the USS Essex, an anti-submarine aircraft carrier traveling the world. He maintained high evaluations, was top of his class in crash crewman classes, reaching the rank of E5 Aviation Boatswain (ABH2). After the military he returned home and worked various jobs in the Fargo area.

He married Janice Ambuehl. They lived in Ada, MN. Orville worked several years at Norman County Highway Department, and other part time jobs. He later married Pam Jensen.

He managed the Ada VFW for 17 years. In 1994, Orville and Pam purchased the Last Chance Saloon in Hendrum, MN, which they remodeled and owned for nearly 25 years. While Pam ran the Saloon, Orville went to work for Simplot Soil Solutions in Hendrum. He made lifelong friends and worked there until they closed the Hendrum Office in 2016. Orville and Pam sold the Last Chance Saloon and retired to Fargo.

Orville is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pam, Fargo ND, children James (Elizabeth) Dukleth, Audubon, MN, Chris (Melissa) Morden, Cavalier, ND, Jodi Kralik (Cory) Indianola, IA, Ryan (Janeen) Dukleth Creston IA, Richelle Jensen, Fargo, ND. His sister Olive Hess, Ada, MN, his brother Gary (Deb) Dukleth, Arlington, WA. Grandchildren Makenzie (Zach), Zachary (Abby), Shaun (Jeris), Canyan (Nathaniel), Kasen, Kennedy, Kate, Brady, Coby, Raven, Hayden, Great Grandchildren Hayslee, and Brezyne.

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jackie, brother Warren, and sister LeVonne Hekman.

Orville was a one of a kind, a character with a profound sense of humor, he loved to make people smile.

“A limb has fallen from our family tree, that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived when I was strong.”

A Celebration of Orville’s life will be held on April 15th at the Moorhead Legion from 2 pm to 4 pm. All are welcome to join the family in his celebration.
