Patricia “Pat” Ann Porter, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandma passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Sanford Medical Center, Hillsboro, North Dakota.

Patricia “Pat” Ann Kirk was born December 8, 1938.  She was the daughter of Harvey and Berget (Omlid) Kirk from East Grand Forks.  She attended Mallory School until 8th grade and then graduated from Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, Minnesota in 1956.  It was while she was in Crookston that she met the love of her life, Lynn Porter.  They married September 22, 1957 and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this year.  They spent their married life in the Hillsboro community.

Pat loved to play cards and go golfing with her friends.  Family was very important to her and she loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren by her side.  Pat was a member of the United Parish UCC-UMC  in Hillsboro, North Dakota.

Pat is survived by her husband, Lynn of Hillsboro, daughter, Lisa (Jim) Plummer of Tyndall, SD; sons, Mike (Theresa) Porter of Orlando, FL, and Greg (Patty) Porter of Hillsboro, ND.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Emily W, Austin, Matthew, Brittany, Emily H,  Brady, Calle, Molly and Ebony; 2 great-grandchildren, Karsten and Madison (and another baby on the way).  She also leaves her brother, David Kirk, Grand Forks, ND and 3 sisters, Bonnie (Duane) Miller, Detroit Lakes, MN, Dorothy (Wayne) Ferencik, Bemidji, MN, and Linda (Jay) Kelly, Sioux Falls, SD. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Hospice of Traill County.
