Paul Berg was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on February 19, 1958. The son of James and Nona Berg. Grandson of Arthur and Thora Berg and Edwin and Helen Benson. He lived in Dawson and Steele, North Dakota until 1963 when the family moved to Fargo. He lived near NDSU while attending Roosevelt grade school, Ben Franklin and North High, where he was a three year letterman in wrestling. He then attended NDSU Bottineau majoring in Biology and Chemistry. Paul had worked at the Biltmore in the kitchen during high school and then began a long career in construction, starting at Moore Engineering as a surveyor. Paul was a cement finisher and steel worker before he started framing. It was his love of carpentry that took him across the country from coast to coast with Wally Rasmussen, CR Wolf Enterprise and others.
Settling back in Fargo with his wife Rebecca Reynolds who he married in October of 1992 after living together for many years. He framed apartment complexes, Candle Park Properties and others until he retired in 2008. He and his wife took on full time caregiving for his mother Nona after she developed dementia. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and traveling with his wife Becky. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an original disc golfer and longtime member of the Fargo Moorhead Disc Golf Club in which he was a senior grand master. He was also a member of the Tremble Clef Choir, a Parkinson's singing group at HeartSprings Community Healing Center. He played league pool in the winter enjoying the competition and longtime rivalries with other teams. Paul passed away peacefully at his home on July 12, 2019.
