Phyllis Rustad

Phyllis Rustad peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Bethany on University Assisted Living. She was 75 years old. Rest in peace dear one. Phyllis was born on July 26, 1945 at St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo. She was the daughter of John and Eileen (Bartholomay) Rustad. Phyllis spent her adult life residing in Fargo. With a strong will and a fun-loving nature, Phyllis carved out a good life despite some disabilities. Phyllis was baptized and confirmed at Horace Lutheran Church. She attended elementary school in Horace and continued her education at Woodrow Wilson in Fargo. Phyllis worked as a kitchen aide in a restaurant, was a childcare provider and a devoted care giver to people with special needs. She enjoyed times at the Island Park Activity Center where she met many life-long friends. Phyllis enjoyed music and visiting with family. Phyllis was a member of the Fargo Eagles Auxiliary since 1974. She received the Mrs. Eagles Award. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and James Watschke. Phyllis is survived by her aunt, Joanne Groth; and numerous cousins. The family of Phyllis would like to thank the staff on 3rd floor, Cedar Square at Bethany. Also, Ethos Hospice for their care and concern in her final days.
