Ralph Marlin Mathison died on Wednesday August 12, 2026 in his home in Fargo.

Ralph was born July 3, 1933 on the family farm near Christine, ND, to Ole and Minnie (Johnson) Mathison. He was baptized in Christine Luthern Church and confirmed in Hickson Lutheran Church.

Ralph attended Hickson Public School and graduated from Comstock High School in Comstock, MN in 1951. He got drafted into the US Army and was last stationed in Colorado as a snow ski instructor. After he was discharged he farmed with his brothers for a short time and hauled mail for the rural US post office out of Fargo. He was employed by Northern Heating and Home Heating. He started his own business as
Ralph’s Heating Service. He enjoyed all sports, hunting, fishing, softball and snow skiing and camping. He enjoyed travel, trips to Germany, Norway, New York by motor home, California,
Washington, Las Vegas and local casinos. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fargo. He will be remembered by his Western shirts, blue jeans and cowboy boots.

Ralph is survived by his sons Jeffery (Carlene), Jonathan, and daugher Brenda (Robert) Cochran; several grandchildren and great grand children; sister-in-laws, Lois Mathison, Alice Mathison; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joseph, Maynard, Oliver, Howard, Arthur and Allan; his sisters, Inez Boseley and Marlys Mertz.
