Born in:
Breckenridge, Minnesota
Resided in:
Valley City, North Dakota
Randy Erhart Marohl, 57, of Valley City, ND passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND surrounded by his wife, children, brothers, sisters, and in-laws.
Randy was born in Breckenridge, MN on October 19, 1966, to Duane and Shirley (Baker) Marohl. He grew up on a farm a few miles out of Wahpeton, ND where he was the middle child of seven. Randy loved living on the farm and shared many great memories of times with his brothers and sisters riding bikes all summer long and digging tunnels through the snow in the winter, just to name a couple.
Randy attended school in Wahpeton and after high school he stayed and enrolled in college at NDSCS and graduated in 1987 with a degree in diesel mechanics. A few years later Randy accepted a job working for 3M.
In 1994, Randy was introduced to Stacy Fosdick from Hope, ND through mutual friends and they were married on August 10, 1996, at Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight, ND.
On June 28, 1997, they welcomed a son. Two years later they decided to pack up and move to Colorado where he worked as a commercial plumber. On September 11, 2001, Randy and his wife had their second child, a daughter, and their family was complete. Randy enjoyed the mild winters in Colorado and absolutely loved the friends he made there but after 18 years they decided to move back to ND to be close to family. Randy began working for BDT Mechanical in Fargo, but they lived in Valley City so Randy could be close to his favorite spot, Lake Ashtabula. This was his happy place. He loved to spend as much time there as possible, fishing with his kids on the pontoon or off the dock, riding around Bayshore Resort on the golf cart, or finding projects that needed to be done at the cabin. His family referred to him as “Handy Randy” because there was nothing he couldn’t fix or build.
Randy was proceeded in death by his parents and will be deeply missed by his wife, Stacy; son, Riley Marohl; daughter, Halley Marohl; brothers, Terry (Carmen) Marohl, Bryan (Eileen) Marohl, and Curtis (Janet) Marohl; sisters, Shelly (Steve) Wolf, Jennifer (Sy) Hansana, and Stacee (Mike) Manock; father-in-law, Mic Fosdick; brother-in-law, Mike (Jamie) Fosdick; sister-in-law, Jackie (Kim) Kamletz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and neighbors.
May he rest in peace and forever be remembered for his kindness, his infectious laughter and his love for his family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Randy’s memory.

Randy was a wonderful neighbor, and an incredibly decent guy. Painful to watch how hard he struggled against his illness, yet not once did we hear him complain. We will miss him dearly and continue to pray as he makes his journey home.
Life will never be the same for those he left behind; thinking of you all as you bear the emptiness and grief of the days ahead.
Godspeed, Randy.
