Rhonda Morris

July 23, 1955 ~ September 25, 2026

Born in: Moorhead, Minnesota
Resided in: Fargo, North Dakota

Rhonda Maria (Weiss) Morris, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at her residence in Fargo, ND. Born on July 23, 1955, to Roger and Bernadette (Simonson) Weiss in Moorhead, MN, Rhonda spent most of her life in Fargo.

Rhonda had a generous and caring heart. She hosted many Vikings and Bison parties. Rhonda enjoyed Friday night poker games at her parents’ house. She tried her luck in Vegas a few times, too. Rhonda and her sisters enjoyed having a few beers and talking about “last marrows.” She also enjoyed going to Leaf Lake with her family. She loved doing things with the kids such as diving off the pontoon, exploring, creeking and telling late-night campfire stories. The most memorable stories told were about a mysterious fish (scissor lips) that lived in Leaf Lake. Rhonda hosted sleepovers for her kids and their cousins. She made homemade pizza, popcorn and pop for scary movie night. She didn’t spend a lot of time or money on herself. Her joy was watching others be happy and cared for.

Rhonda was an owner and cooked “Montezuma” hot sauce. Cooking is something she took pride in. She added jalapenos to everything! She also helped make wooden organ pipes, worked with a traveling highway crew and worked at Petro Serve before retiring early because of health issues.

Rhonda is survived by her husband Steve Jenson; son John Aventi III and grandchildren Isabella and Jasmine Aventi, all of South Carolina; daughter Jenny Aventi, Fargo and grandchildren Destinee, Meia and Shye Aventi of Michigan; stepchildren Ashley (Corey) Krogen and Travis Jenson; father Roger Weiss of Fargo; sister Dawn Weiss of Fargo; brother Cory (Tammi) Weiss of Fargo; and sister Maria Barnes of Fargo; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rhonda is preceded in death by her mother Bernadette Weiss; sister Monica Morris; nieces Christine Hellerud and Faith Barnes; and husbands John Aventi and Brian Morris.

So saddened by this news. We were friends in grade school and always so close in high school and years after. Lost touch and Always tried to get back in touch with her but could never locate her. My heart is broken. Prayers to her family. May God give you all strength through these tough days ahead. 🙏🏻 ✝️

  2. RIP Dear cousin Rhonda. You will be so missed. I always absolutely loved your humor!

  3. Sending our sympathy and love especially to Johnny and Jenny, as well as all the family and friends who grieve and will miss Rhonda. Having known her since high school, her kind, sweet soul always shined through. After being there when she lost Brian, and knowing how she deeply loved him, I’m holding to a vision they’re now back together, overcome with happiness, and dancing in a beautiful place.

    Love,
    Sherry & Brad Morris
