  1. Grand Prairie TXIf I only had a few more minutes the day you passed away,

I would have had time to tell you all the things I needed to say.

I wish I took the time to tell you how much you mean to me,

Or that you were the best person, better than any man could be.

The last time that I sat by your side and talked with you

I wish I would have known.

I would have said I love you,
and told you that I wouldnt go

If I only had a few more minutes,
the dreadful day you passed away,

I’d give you one last hug so tight just to see that great big smile.

I’d kiss your cheek and take your hand and tell you it’s okay to go

And tell you that we’ll all miss you,
    more than you’ll ever know.

But you were gone so quickly,
    One last breath you’d take.

    Before you even knew it,
you were standing at heavens gate.

Now he has called upon you,
It’s time to get your wings.

To leave the pain and life behind you,
And enjoy all of heavens beautiful things.

Now its time for you to rest,
Leaving us behind but watching from above.

We all know that we have lost one of the best

But we are thank full for all your love.

  2. New York NYI met Richard when we were 6 years old and we started 1st grade together. He was always the tallest in the class. He was a quiet, kind, gentle boy. I was so sad to hear of his passing.

  11. Grand Prairie TXWhen you asked for me, I came up to Hillsboro as fast as I could get there. Was so hard to watch you slip away as the days went by. Please watch over us from above and be our Guardian Angel to keep us from harm. You will be remembered forever and thought of always. I love you Dad.

  12. It will be hard to image Hillsboro without Richard. He was always there to help – whether professionally, volunteering, or simply by being a great neighbor/friend. All who knew Richard got to know an angel. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

  13. Mayville ND
Richard was a great guy, I enjoyed serving with him on the Hillsboro Fire & Rescue Department, and during mutual aid calls when Hillsboro Fire would assist Mayville Fire & Rescue. Richard will be missed at the ND
State fire school. Where it seemed we always would have at least one class together. Plus during the annual Grand Forks Fire Equipment feed on the friday night at fireschool, both Mayville and Hillsboro Fire depts, would sit together and we all know how Richard “loved them hot wings” Plus his love of taking pictures during fire calls, I could always count on Richard to have some pictures that I could use for my yearly Mayville Fire Rescue slide shows. My thoughts and prayers to the Haugen Family.

  14. Hillsboro ND
We will all miss Richard at the fire dept and seeing him on the streets of Hillsboro, I enjoyed Richards company on our many trips to ND
state fire schools in Bismarck, you are home and safe now Richard.
