Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Ah, Satch——we’re gonna miss you! A quality individual if there ever was one! When Satch told you something, it was true. If Satch told you he was gonna do something, he did it. A man of his word like no one else I’ve ever known. In Satch’s world ANY deal could be sealed with a handshake. I learned more about life and how to live it well from him than from anyone else on the police force. When Satch retired, the Fargo PD lost its most positive influence on young, new officers and Fargo lost one of the good ones.
Heaven gained a true believer the day Satch left us.

    Rest easy, old friend!

  2. I have many great memories of staying with Uncle Roald and Aunt Donna when growing up, and I always enjoyed holiday gatherings at your house. Our conversations were always interesting and filled with humor. Peace be with you Uncle Roald.

  3. A better model for all aspects of how to live your life I have not encountered. Your shield and apron are at rest and others have taken up for you, may your standards be found among them. Rest my brother.

  4. Thanks for being Alex & Kyles super hero when they were little. They thought you were the greatest. May you find peace on your journey home.

  5. I have many memories of staying with Uncle Roald and Aunt Donna. Our family went on camping trips to Medora, we went to St.Paul, and to the lakes. Christmas you and Donna would have Christy and I overnight and we would go Christmas shopping for our parents, we would bake Christmas goodies, and decorate the tree. Thank you for the wonderful memories! Peace be with you!

  6. Satch-you were a experienced Officer when I joined FPD in 1975. You taught me patience, how to de-escalate a situation, and how to read people. I used many of the skills you taught me through out my career.
You always kept your cars, motorcycles, and tools in immaculate condition.
Thank you for your service to your country and the city of Fargo.

  7. I came to know Satch when he was a new officer on the Fargo PD he would come down to the Service Station where I worked and do work on his beloved Ford. In later years he would work up on my end of the city North Fargo and would take a coffee break at the house where he was always welcome. We had many occasions to work together when I worked as an Investigator for Law Firms in the area. We did not always agree, but always remained friends. He will never be forgotten!!

  8. First day on the street,Satch was my teacher. I will never forget him,an influence one can not forget. We put pool tables together for Kellogs carpet, drove mail trucks part time, aman with many slkills.
