Robert Berg

Robert P. Berg, 60 of Fargo, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo after a courageous 6 month battle with multiple myeloma. Bob was born March 29, 1946 in Rugby, ND to Marvin and Lucille (Schmaltz) Berg. He was raised in Rugby and graduated from Rugby High School in 1964. In 1968 he graduated from NDSU with a BS in Agricultural Economics. He was an active member of SAE Fraternity where he met his wife, Jan Matteson. They were married June 8, 1968. He began his career in crop protection sales with Geigy in 1968 in Marshall, MN, where both of his sons, the pride and joy of his life, were born. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1976 and a year later moved to Fargo. Bob continued his life long career of sales with the same company and at the time of his death had completed 38 years of service with Syngenta Crop Protection. Bob loved watching old westerns on TV, golfing, fishing and camping with his family and friends at Park Rapids, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife, Jan of Fargo; 2 sons, Kevin of West Fargo and Todd of Glyndon, MN; brother, Ron (Judy) Berg of Minneapolis, MN; brothers-in-law, Don (Mary) Matteson of Fergus Falls, MN, Rich (Barb) Matteson of Minot, ND, Mike (Tonee) Matteson of Garrison, ND; 1 uncle; 4 aunts; 4 nieces and 4 nephews. Visitation: Friday, September 22 from 5-7 pm in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Funeral Mass: Saturday, September 23 at 11:00 am in Sts. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church, Fargo.
