Robert passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo, ND, at the age of 85, with his loving wife by his side.

Robert L. Arneson was born on March 19, 1939, the son of Kenneth and Irene (Fritz) Arneson in Cooperstown, ND. He attended grade school and high school in the Cooperstown area. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army, attending basic training at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. His field and artillery unit was deployed to Korea where he was stationed for 18 months.

Robert was united in marriage to Joanne Hochberger in 1959. They shared 65 years of marriage and were blessed with three children – Dell, Debby and Danny. Bob and Joanne raised their family in Grandin, ND, where they resided for 37 years. They sold their home in 1999 and traveled in an RV full time for four years and later had retirement homes in Casselton, ND, and Fountain Hills, AZ.

Robert was baptized, confirmed, and married in Trinity Lutheran Church in Cooperstown, ND. He continued his Lutheran faith throughout his life. Bob was a dedicated trucker for 40 years in which he made many friends (elevator men, farmers, ect). He loved fishing, bowling, golfing, and car races (especially the ones that his sons and grandsons participated in).

Bob will be greatly missed by his wife, Joanne; his sons – Dell (Virginia) Arneson of Fargo, ND; and Danny (Marie) Arneson of Fountain Inn, SC; his grandchildren – Cale (Jill) and their children, Kate, Cooper, and June of Fargo; Levi (Hannah) and their children, Emmett, Walker, and Harvey of Fargo; Austin (Angie) and their children, Leo and Sonny of Fargo; Jared (Alex) and their daughter, Nora Jo of Frederick, CO; Joshua (Faith) of Bolling Springs, SC; Abbigail (Michael) Eldredge of Longmont, CO.

Also surviving are his sisters – Patty Heggen of Grand Forks, ND; and Mary (Raymond) Robinson of Elgin, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Irene; his daughter, Debby; and his grandson, Casey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Boulger Funeral Home in the Spring of 2025.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo.
