Robert Lloyd Blow, 86, Fargo, ND, formerly of Mina, SD and Lisbon, ND, died on Monday, May 11, 2026, under the excellent care of Sanford Hospice House after suffering a stroke.
Robert (Bob) was born on February 18, 1940 to Lloyd and Ellen (Cessna) Blow in rural Edmunds County, SD.
He married the true love of his life, Barbara Bowers on February 21, 1964, in Aberdeen, SD. After living for several years in Lisbon, ND, where he worked on a well drilling rig, they made their final home together in Mina, SD. He worked as a welder and crane operator for Kyburz-Carlson Construction in Aberdeen, SD for 33 years before retiring.
Several years after Barbara’s passing, he moved from Mina, SD to Ipswich, SD. He eventually moved to Lisbon, ND to be closer to his children and grandchildren, then finally moved to Fargo, ND.
Robert enjoyed hunting, playing horseshoes, and socializing at his local watering hole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brother Dennis (Darlys) Blow; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah (Brian) Gregor of Kindred, ND and Ellen Carlson of Fargo, ND; sisters Mary Ellen Mathern, Mari Dell (Ron) Gillenwater, and Lori (Jerry) Hansen; brother William (Donna) Papke; grandchildren Charlene (Chase) Johnson and Brady (fiancé Jadyn) Carlson; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Per his request, there will be no memorial service.
