Robert Skalicky

robert skalicky
Robert Duane Skalicky was born January 10, 1944, to Joseph and Evelyn (Matejcek) Skalicky. He passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. Robert (Bob) graduated from Powers Lake High School in the spring of 1962. He joined the United States Army on August 15th, 1966 and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves on December 5th 1971. On August 30th, 1969, he married Kathleen Marie Pepple at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Tioga, ND. Shortly after their marriage Bob and Kathy moved to Fargo, ND where they started their family. Bob worked for Robert Gibb and Sons for 30 years as a plumber and together he and Kathy raised four beautiful children; Jennifer, Jessica, Jason, and Jeffery. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their activities. He was always the proudest Papa at every basketball, football, and volleyball game, dance performance, and so on. When he wasn’t able to attend an event he couldn’t wait to talk to his grandchildren about all of the details. Bob looked forward to yearly hunting trips to Western North Dakota and enjoyed spending time at the lakes in Minnesota. He liked to travel and was happy to say that he took the opportunity to see much of the country that he once protected as a young man. Robert is survived by his children: Jennifer (Tony) Satter, Fargo, ND; Jessica (Tom) Baumgartner, Fargo, ND; Jason (Cassie) Skalicky, West Fargo, ND; Jeffrey Skalicky, Chicago, IL; six grandchildren: Paige (Talon) Poyner, Minneapolis, MN; Ty Satter, Ellie and Tommy Baumgartner, GraceAnna and Andrew Skalicky; siblings: Daniel Skalicky, Minot, ND; Jerald Skalicky, Moorhead, MN; Deloris (Vernon) Johnson, Jacksonville, FL; Bernard Skalicky, Norwich, ND; Richard Skalicky, Cando, ND; brother-in-law, Mike (Vivian) Pepple, Ray, ND; sister-in-law, Jana (Marvin) Phillips, Phoenix, AZ; and mother-in-law Betty (Froeber) Pepple. 1. My sincerest condolences to you all. Bob was a wonderful man and I am so lucky to have had the chance to know him.

  2. He was like a Second Father to me. A Great Man who Raised a wonderful family. He will be Deeply missed. Kathy and Bob reunited in Heaven is pretty awesome though. To the Entire Skalicky family, I am deeply sorry for your Loss. He was a Great Soul, and I will never forget him.

  3. It is sad news to hear of my cousins passing. I have fond memories of our youth on the family farms. He was always fun to be around and a hard worker. May his family feel comfort in trusting he is in his heavenly home and reunited with loved ones. Enjoy the memories and gift of love he gave you. With prayers and hugs from Tenn.

  4. Our sincere condolences on the loss of your wonderful dad. We knew him as your wonderful mom Kathy was our son Mike’s daycare provider and Mike would come home and tell us that he and other daycare kids “helped” Bob with one of his projects. Bob was so patient and kind.
Our prayers are with all of you treasure your memories of him.
