My brother Rodney was a person who, as a child, loved taking things apart (like motors) and putting them back together with his neighborhood friends, Jackie Schultz and Steve Weist. Somehow they’d manage to create some mischief in the neighborhood that kept parents coming to the rescue. As he moved into high school, be became interested in car racing and local bands. One of his favorite experiences was working for the local pop music group the Unbelievable Uglies.
After graduating from Fargo North High School in 1972, he attended and graduated from the tech school in Moorhead and went on the road as a truck driver for about ten years.
Eventually health issues seriously slowed him down and he was grateful for his pets, sometimes referred to as the fur babies, to keep him company . A recent highlight for him was walking his daughter down the aisle at FIrst Lutheran Church when she married Brian and then dancing with her at the reception. He always smiled when he talked about his grandchildren and visits with their parents.
***** Please share a story / memory of Rod so his family will know about his connection to you.
That playful, fun-loving, mischief-making part of him was certainly present at our wedding 51 years ago. I will treasure the deep-feeling Rod who cared so deeply.
