RomaKay “Roma” Leigh Landis, 24, passed away peacefully at Sanford Hospital, on October 14, 2022, with close family by her side.
Romas’s bright, beautiful soul came into our lives on May 31, 1998 and despite battling many health issues working against her she was the happiest, kindest, sweetest, funniest and most loving person.
From a very young age she could connect with others so deeply and always wanted to make others happy. If someone was hurting or sick, she was more concerned and loving than anyone; only wanting to make it better. She had an infectious laugh, and a mischievous sense of humor, trying to get a laugh and a rise out of her family and friends by teasing them. You knew when she was most excited because she would clasp her hands together with joy. Some of her favorite activities were her trips to Starbucks, car rides, painting her nails, listening to music, hanging out with her brother Rylan, and snuggling with her dog, Buddy. She loved Music Therapy class where she could really express herself. In fact, music and singing were some of her favorite moments when her beautiful personality lit up the room, especially with the song “You Are My Sunshine” which she certainly was to so many people.
Roma shared a special and devoted relationship with her mom; both always cherishing time spent together. Their love for each other was unconditional and every moment together was filled with smiles, gentleness, care, and fun; a bond that was like no other. Also dear to Roma, were her grandparents, Kay and Jerry (Papa), who were a big part of Roma’s entire life. Not a day went by that they didn’t show her how much she was loved.
Her contagious, positive, personality will be missed by everyone who knew her, whether that was for a lifetime or a moment.
Though tears are falling, and hearts are broken, we know that our sweet RomaKay is singing and dancing in heaven, free from her wheelchair. And we are forever changed by her pure heart and zest for life. With love and gratefulness for the blessing of having Roma in our lives, we send her home to Jesus with a piece of our hearts, knowing that (in Roma’s words) it’s “The Best Day Ever”.
She is survived by her mother Jennifer Bredahl, West Fargo and father Tim Landis (Raeann), Fargo; grandparents Jerry and Kay Gnoinsky, Moorhead, and Evelyn Landis, Grand Forks; brother Rylan Bredahl, West Fargo; stepfamily, Zach Braaten, Mina, Shaeffer and Briggs Landis; and countless cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who will all miss her so dearly.
In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to VTC in Fargo. This was a place that Roma loved to go each day. This place made such a positive impact in her life.

Lonny and I are saddened to hear of Roma’s passing. She was such a special lady, and we know how much she meant to both of you. Lonny told me stories of when he and Tim would stop and visit Roma in Jamestown, and how happy she always was to see them.
We are sending prayers for peace and comfort to you, and also to all who loved Sweet Roma.
Rest in Peace, Sweet Girl.

I knew Roma through VTC. She loved my granddaughter Addy and would visit her often at the hospital. She wanted so badly for Addy to go back to VTC so they could spend more time together. I know your heartbreak and pray for comfort for your family.
