Ronald Evan Smallarz, 89, Fargo passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Ron was born April 7, 1934 in Barnes County, ND to Joe and Sadie (Janish) Smallarz. He graduated from Buffalo High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He went on to attend Interstate Business College.

He worked for Westgo Manufacturing for 30+ years before moving to Alloway and finally Gateway Building Systems, retiring in 2020.

He married Lucille Borseth on October 6, 1961, in Watertown, SD. They made their home in Fargo, ND.

He was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. He also loved the music of Hank Williams Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille, Fargo, ND; children, Kevin Smallarz, Fargo, ND, Rhonda (Chad) Holland, West Fargo, ND, Debbie (John) Larson, Boulder, MT, David Smallarz, Fargo, ND, Roberta (Brandon) Winge, Fargo, ND; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 grandsons, Matt Holland, Alex St. Germaine, Brandon Huseth, 2 brothers, Floyd Smallarz and Kenneth Smallarz.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 10, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation starting at 10:00 A.M.

Interment with Military Honors: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
