Ronald Leroy Falk, 87, West Fargo, ND passed away August 10, 2024 under the care of Sheyenne Crossing in West Fargo and Ethos Hospice. A special thanks is deserving to the nurses who cared for Ronald.
Ronald was born April 23, 1937 in Lisbon, ND to George and Atha (Peterson) Falk and had three siblings. Ronald grew up in rural Fort Ransom and attended school there, graduating in 1955 from Fort Ransom High School. Ronald was always interested in aviation and became a crop duster and an exceptional one at that. He was also an IA A&P mechanic. After high school he worked in Argusville, ND for Warren Walkinshaw and later served in Korea as a helicopter mechanic. On November 27, 1964 he married Janice S. Cornelius and made a home in Fargo, ND raising two sons. Ronald continued spraying crops in the Red River Valley, Minnesota and in Arkansas. In 1980 the family relocated to Park Rapids, MN and Ronald sprayed crops for R.D. Offutt Company’s expanded potato operations in the area. He continued to do this until he retired in 2002. Ronald flew for R.D. Offutt Company 26 years and accumulated some 27,000+ hours of flying time in his career, mostly in airplanes with radial engines. Ronald was an honest man and was very dedicated to things that were important to him. He was also a very skilled airplane mechanic and welder. He was very proud that he helped teach his sons to become pilots.
Ronald is survived by his two sons; Tyler (Lodee Arnold), West Fargo, ND and Terry (Mary), Urbandale, IA; Brothers Arden (Stephanie) and Russell; nieces Tiffany, Amanda, Nateal, Carly, Ann, Shelley, Beth, and Stacey; nephew Steve, and grandchildren Taylor, Kelly, Tycho, Teryn, and Tate as well as other close relatives and friends. My condolences to Ron’s family… I remember he gave me a ride in his airplane to Fargo where I was attending school. It was my very first airplane ride .. sooooo exciting!
Condolences to the Falk family, from Winnipeg but formerly Fort Ransom.
Truly sorry to hear about Ron’s passing Tyler and Terry! It was always a sight to see him spraying the fields south of town. I remember back in grade school hanging at the house with Terry. Your entire Family are in our thoughts and prayers! Sincerely, Matt “Whitey” & Angie De La Hunt
It wasn’t easy for Ron to lose his active mobility, yet because of it some of us got to know him . Am grateful for that. Fly high in true peace, Ron. Loved hearing the song “I did it my way”.
