ronald zimmerman

September 10, 1961 ~ April 23, 2026

Resided in: Dilworth, Minnesota

Ron passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home in Dilworth, surrounded by his loving family, and under the care of Sanford Hospice.

Ronald Kent Zimmerman was born on September 10, 1961, in Ada, MN, the son of Kent and Colleen (Olson) Zimmerman. He grew up in Ulen, MN, where he received his education graduating from Ulen-Hitterdal High School. Ron attended the Wahpeton State School of Science where he received his degree in Cooling/Heating/Plumbing.

Ron was united in marriage to Pamela Schultz on July 31, 1982, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen. Together they made their home for nearly 40 years in Dilworth where they raised their family. Ron dedicated his working career for over 35 years to Allied Fire Protection in Fargo until he retired due to health concerns.

Ron was a devoted father to Zac and Alison, and nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could. He cherished days at the lake surrounded by family and friends, whether casting a line with his grandchildren or relaxing by the fire, appreciating the little things in life.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, which helped fuel his passion and talent for taxidermy – a skill he perfected with many years and hours of work dedicated to this art.

Ron formed deep and lasting friendships throughout his life. He had a way of connecting with people, which was evident with the number of visitors in his final weeks.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Pam of Dilworth, MN; his two children – Zac (Danielle) Zimmerman of West Fargo, ND; and Alison Zimmerman of Dilworth; his four beloved grandchildren – Trey, Kaion, Mera, and Celia; his two sisters – Sheryl Deitzler of Fergus Falls, MN; and Connie (Gary) Bakke of Fargo, ND; his five nieces and nephews – Amy Herrick, Tara Kelly, Brandon Bakke, Mary McLain and Emily McLain; and his sister-in-law, Lonni (Richard McLain) Schultz of Livonia, MI.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Kent and Colleen; his brother-in-law, Gary Deitzler; his in-laws – JoNeil and Rubye Schultz; his best friend Todd Peterson; and his canine soul mate, Paisley.
