Ronnie Mulder, 69, rural Cummings, ND, passed away Friday, November 05, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Ronnie Mulder, "Grandfather" 69, rural Cummings, ND, went to his heavenly home on  Friday, November 05, 2010 at Altru Hospital,  Grand Forks, ND after a lengthy illness.

Ronnie was born to Harry D. and Lillian M.(Robinson) Mulder in Lacrosse, WI on August 12, 1941. He grew up there and attended school in Onalaska, WI. Following high school Ronnie worked on a horse ranch in Rugby,  ND for six years before returning to Wisconsin. Ronnie Mulder and Rachel Erickson were married on June 15, 1963 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Bangor,WI. Ronnie was baptized and confirmed on December 5, 1965. He retired in 1985 and moved to Fargo where he attended NDSU from which he graduated in 2000. In 2000 he moved to the family farm in Cummings, ND and joined St. John Lutheran Church where he has been a member since.

At 63 his grandson Seth taught him how to play upright bass. They formed a bluegrass band called Seth Mulder and the Goose River Boys. They traveled throughout the Midwest playing at nursing homes, festivals, and fairs. To everyone, wherever he played he was known as "Grandfather".  He was an avid gardener, his hobbies included drawing, painting, traveling, his grandchildren, and was a true Green Bay Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel; children, Ronnie D. (Jill) Mulder, Alice, ND, Nayva Mulder, Cummings, ND, Brenda Draper, Fargo, Lillian Mulder, Fargo, and Ben Mulder, Cummings, ND; and 3 grandchildren, Seth Mulder, Hyden, Kentucky,  Harrison Mulder- McAllister, Logan Mulder, and special friends Rick and Michelle Else, Grand Forks.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia and granddaughter, Rebecca.

The memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Hillsboro. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wildeman Funeral Home with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the funeral in the church.
