Rosalie Hertwig

Rosalie Loretta (Lien) Hertwig, passed away June 11, 2023 at Sanford Medical Center after a brief illness.

Rosalie was born January 25, 1940 in Hillsboro, ND to Artha (Thompson) and Tilman Lien. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1958 and began working at the ASCS office until 1969 when their second daughter Karla was born. She then started working for Hillsboro City Hall in 1977 retiring in 2000.

She married Robert Hertwig October 10, 1964 at Our Savior Lutheran in Hillsboro, ND. They had two daughters Sherri and Karla.

Rosalie is survived by her husband, daughter Sherri (Dave) Schultz, Reynolds, ND, Karla (Dan) Clark, Mandan, ND. Grandchildren Tyler (Leann) Schultz, Woodbury, MN, Danielle (Andy) Ladwig West Fargo, ND, Brittany (Jack) Hodorff, West Fargo, ND, Joshua Clark, Mandan, ND. Great grandchildren Maddox, Vivienne Rose, Gianna, Beckett Ladwig and Charlie Jo Hodorff. Gigi was anxiously awaiting the birth of her fourth great granddaughter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James, Wallace, Clarence and sister Katherine. She was preceded in death by many wonderful brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. She is also preceded in death by granddaughter Kaitlin Rose Clark and four great grandbabies who we know are being held by the best Gigi ever.
