Rose Anne (Vogel) Millette, 92, Fargo, died Tuesday December 6, 2016, at Rosewood on Broadway.
Rose Anne Vogel was born July 19, 1924 in Fargo, the daughter of Sebastian O. and Rose (Schleich) Vogel.
She attended Sacred Heart Academy for both grade school and high school. She also attended North Dakota State University receiving both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, and Education. She married Theodore (Ted) Millette on January 7, 1950 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo.
A Licensed Registered Dietician, Rose Anne was the Nutrition Journalist for the NDSU Extension Service from 1969 until retirement in 1987. She authored over 75 Foods and Nutrition publications, contributed to Home Economics Newsletters, state and regional magazines, the Journal of American Dietetic Association, and also did radio and television programs. She received many awards for her writing. During her Extension career she was advisor to the ND Homemakers Council and taught in-service Food and Nutrition workshops and seminars throughout the state. She was a member of the American Dietetic Association, the American Home Economics Association, the American Association of University Professors, Epsilon Sigma Phi, Alpha Delta Kappa, the National Federation of Press Women, and the ND and American Library Associations.
Rose Anne was active in her church and community as a member of many organizations including Holy Spirit Church Council, Guild and school; Sanford and Dakota Hospital Auxiliaries (where she logged more than 10,000 hours of volunteer service), Friendship Inc., nominated as YWCA’s Woman of the Year for distinguished leadership in Education in 1982 and Friendship’s Mother of the Year for the Fargo area in 2000.
Rose Anne is survived by her four sons: Duane (Nancy) of Whitefish, MT, Tom (Monica), Moorhead MN, Keith (Rennae), Grand Forks, ND, Chuck of Fargo; six grandchildren, Leah, Michael, Paul, Eric, Michela, and Katherine Millette; one sister Grace Griebstein of Fairfield, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
The funeral will be at 1:00 PM Saturday December 10, 2016 at Church of the Holy Spirit, with visitation one hour before the service.

Uncle Ted and Aunt Rose Anne were such accomplished, but humble people. I always admired their creativity, kindness and the mark they made- your Dad through his art and architecture and your Mom through her dedicated service and passion for education- and of course her cooking! Your dedication and devotion to her these past years has been inspiring. I really treasure the recipe book she made to help archive an incredible family history. She gave

Rose Ann made outstanding contributions to NDSU and the state through her work in extension. On behalf of the College of Human Development and Education, formerly Home Economics, I extend our sympathy to the family. Rose Ann has a wonderful reputation–she will be missed.
