Rose's Service will be live streamed below starting at 1:45 PM:
Rose Marie Kalabza was born May 28, 1954, to Melvin and Adeline (Seyfert) Dahl in Kenmare, ND. During Rose’s childhood the family lived in Fortuna, ND. Rose attended grade school in Flaxton, ND. The family drove to lignite every Sunday for Catholic Mass and Catechism as it was very important to her mom, Adeline. Then the family moved to Williston, ND. In Williston it is where Rose began her 48 years of working in the restaurant industry. Rose began working at the age of 13 and quit school at 15 to work and help support the family. Rose was one of the hardest working women of her time, who always put her family first. Rose met Ed Kalabza in Williston around 1974 when she worked at the Westland Truck Stop. They later married on June 1, 1975. In their 26 years of marriage, they had 3 children Mark, Randy, and Gerri. They raised their family in Williston. While living in Williston it wasn’t unusual to walk into the “Kalabza House” and find 10-15 kids running around the house. In the early 90’s Rose and Ed opened an arcade, called M and R Arcade, to give the kids of Williston a place to hang out. Rose and Ed always made any kid feel welcome in their home and hearts. One thing Rose and Ed made sure of, was that any kid that came into their life was cared for and had someone that cared for them. Ed later passed away in Nov 2000. Rose retired in 2015 when she moved to Fargo to be closer to her kids and grandkids. Rose will be missed by many and remembered for big family home cooked meals and her selflessness. She loved having family at her home for holidays. No one was missed. She always gave what she could and gave till the end. Rose’s most beloved blessings to her, were her 6 grandbabies: Josh, Kayden, Cameron, Jace, Lennox and Finley. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Ed, her parents, Melvin and Adeline, 4 sisters Juanita, Jeanette, Rita, Faith, 2 brothers Darrell and Jerome. Rose is survived by her kids, Mark (Katie), Randy (Melissa) Gerri (Zach), her 6 grandkids Josh, Kayden, Cameron, Jace, Lennox, Finley all of Fargo, many nieces and nephews and her sister Susan Sigloh of Williston.
