In Loving Memory of Ryan Reitmeier, 49 (West Fargo, ND)

Ryan Reitmeier, born on July 31, 1974 (Crookston, MN), gracefully departed this world on January 28, 2024, at Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN surrounded by his family.

Ryan embraced life’s simple pleasures, finding joy in the peaceful moments of ice fishing and the camaraderie of frozen lakes. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was a huge fan of NASCAR and football, proudly supporting Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the Vikings (when they won). He enjoyed watching sports with family and friends. In addition to his love for fishing and sports, Ryan found solace and joy on the golf course. Golf became another avenue for him to connect with friends, family, and the outdoors.

A skilled truck driver throughout his career, he earned admiration from colleagues and friends. His time behind the wheel was not just a job but a passion that he approached with diligence and pride. He was Rookie of the Year for the North Dakota Truck Driving Championship in 2003. In 2006, he won the Top Points Award for the North Dakota Truck Driving Championship. After that he advanced to Nationals in New Orleans, 2006 where he placed in the top 5.

In 2018, Ryan embarked on an entrepreneurial journey establishing his own ATM business (Ryno Processing, LLC). This was a source of immense pride, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative mindset.

Ryan’s love for life extended to simple pleasures, including his fondness for pizza. Whether sharing a slice with loved ones or enjoying it all to himself, pizza held a special place in his heart. He was also called Pizzaboy.

What truly set Ryan apart was his generous spirit. He derived happiness from making others happy, always ready with a helping hand or a kind word, or making others laugh with his dad jokes. His infectious laughter and warm smile will be etched in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him. The “Cheerful Giver.”

Ryan Reitmeier leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and accomplishment. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant life he lived and the positive impact he had on those around him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Stacy; children, Reily, Kirstyn Scholin (Sam Olmstead), Logan Scholin; dog, Snickers; parents, Howard and Barb Reitmeier; siblings, Chad (Katrina), Corey (Kathy), Connie Powell; niece and nephews, Mekellti, Kaysie, Layney and Dylan (Skye) Reitmeier, Hollie (Isaac) Edlund, Sydney (Preston) Peters, Spencer Luckow; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his brother, Eric, sister in-law Wendy; and grandparents, Gordon and Betty Mjoen and Lloyd and Audrey Reitmeier, and uncle Bruce Mjoen.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Make them all laugh Ryan. I’m sure my mom will wisten to you. I’ll miss the funny things on Facebook that you posted.

  2. Going to miss Ryan. Hard to believe he is not here. Was out and about some on Monday and a lot of tears were shed talking about Ryan. You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

  3. Meeting Ryan for the first time as our neighbor I was blown away by his caring and generous heart. We had only just met and he would tell us if we need anything he would be more than happy to help. He was always looking out for us after that. We will miss you Ryan. Rest in peace.

  4. I met Ryan a while back and whenever I saw him he always had a smile on his face. He always said hello. I am so sorry for the loss of this sweet guy. Prayers to his family. He will be missed by many.

  5. We are waiting to watch the prayer service. We’re with you in thoughts and prayers. I have had so many thoughts about Ryan and his family this week….from ice fishing to three wheelers to bike rides and going to the creek. Long talks about the meaning of life to many jokes. We’re eating pizza in memory of him while we wait. Hugs to you all

  6. I have lots of fun memories growing up and going to school with Ryan. K-12! He had a dynamic personality, always a kind boy and full of fun. It doesn’t seem fair he had to go so soon – his loss is felt by many.

  7. Our deepest sympathy, Ryan was such all around nice guy. May his legacy bring you comfort during this difficult time.

  8. I met Ryan and Stacey when we were at We fest. His ATM was right next to the flip-flop T-shirt booth that we had and I was running it by myself for a while. Ryan came over and introduced himself and then he kept checking on me and kept asking me if I had to go pee and he would watch the booth.. I only knew him for a weekend, but then saw his post on Facebook because he sent me a friend request. It makes me sad to read about Ryan because he was a very young person. And had a very big heart in the short time that I knew him.. Rest in peace Ryan. Blessings to all of the family.

  9. I am so sorry everyone. I will never forget the fun times at my Uncle Bruce and Aunt Marlys’s house, when the Reitmeier boys would come over. The level of fun and games just escalated! Great memories. Ryan was quick with a smile, that is what I remember the most. Do take care; and TRUST. Eternal life will no doubt be good to Ryan and his kind spirit. Our loved ones are just on the other side……
