Sandra "Sandy" Kaye Riely

Sandra K. Riely, Fargo, ND went to her eternal home on September 2, 2026.

Sandy was born to Stanley and Helen (Hedrich) Nelson in Ada, MN on June 16, 1949. She graduated from Hunter High School where she participated in band, choir, and cheerleading. She fell in love with Daniel Riely, and they were married on February 2, 2012 in Fargo, ND. Her husband Dan also served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam war.

Sandy and Dan lived on Leaf Lake, where they enjoyed many years of lake life. They always had plenty of friends stopping by for some of Sandy’s great cooking. Sandy loved to make strawberry and raspberry jam. Even more, she loved to share it with her friends. At Christmas Sandy would make fudge, caramels, and cookies to share with their friends. She enjoyed landscaping and planting flowers around their lake home.

Sandy graduated from Joseph’s school of Hair Design and went on to have a long career as a hair stylist. She owned her own beauty salon in Arthur, ND which she called Sandy’s Salon for many years. Sandy also worked for Swanston Equipment with her husband Dan. They traveled around the United States striping highways and enjoying all the beautiful scenery.

Sandy was a loving and gracious lady with a kind heart. She will be forever missed but not forgotten. Sandy is now in heaven with her husband, Dan and their adorable pet, Keystone.

Sandy is survived by her loving family: Sister Diana (Chuck) Punton; brothers Larry Nelson, and Michael (Lisa) Nelson; many nieces and nephews; and all of her friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Daniel; Parents Stanley and Helen Nelson; sister-in-law; Lyda Nelson and nieces; Lynette Nelson and Patty Porter.
