Sharon Kay Pederson, 70, of Horace, ND, was a treasured soul known for her kind, loving, caring, and humorous personality. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and supported by HIA Hospice, after a courageous battle with stage four colon cancer.

Sharon was born on September 13, 1955, in North St. Paul, MN, to DeHewitt and Barbara Campbell. Along with her siblings Mike, Jeff, Karen, Bill, and Tom, she created countless cherished childhood memories in their home on Skillman Avenue.

Sharon graduated from North St. Paul High School in 1973. Shortly after, she welcomed her son, Lee. She married Alan Pederson on November 30, 1974. Sharon began her career at Brown & Bigelow, where she worked for 19 years as an office assistant.

Later in life, Sharon met Cary Goff Sr., and together they welcomed their son, Cary Jr. She moved to Fargo in the late 1990s to be closer to her sister, Karen, and from that moment on, the two of them and their families shared endless laughter, adventures, and wonderful memories.

During her years in Fargo, Sharon worked in various customer service roles. Her coworkers and customers adored her unique spirit and uplifting energy. She had a special way of connecting with people, even strangers. To Sharon, everyone was a friend.

Sharon lived life to the fullest. No matter the challenges she faced, she always encouraged others to love and enjoy life. She was the life of every party and never missed a moment to sing, dance, and have fun. She loved Elvis, Prince, and anything rock ‘n roll.

Sharon loved being a mom, she was so incredibly proud of her two sons. The role she treasured most was being a grandma. She adored her four grandchildren—Alexis, Chloe, Case, and Brooklynn—who will miss her with all their hearts.

She is survived by her sons, Lee (Adrien) Pederson and Cary Goff Jr. (Stephany); her grandchildren, Chloe and Case Pederson and Alexis and Brooklynn Goff; siblings Mike (Barb) Campbell, Jeff Campbell, Karen Thompson, Billy (Becky) Campbell, and Tom (Christy) Campbell; along with several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sharon was welcomed into heaven by her parents, DeHewitt and Barbara Campbell; grandparents Rene and Agnes Campbell and Bert and Martha Kuznia; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Sharon’s departure leaves an unfillable void for all who knew and loved her, yet we find comfort in the memories and the everlasting love she shared so freely. As Sharon would always say, “Fly high, free bird.”

Her family extends a heartfelt thank you to the oncology team at Essentia Health for the compassionate care provided throughout Sharon’s cancer journey.
