Shera Kay Schneider

Shera Kay Schneider, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 11th at Eventide Care Center in Moorhead Minnesota.

Shera was born on August 15th 1932 in Aberdeen South Dakota to Claude and Ruth Harr. She was the youngest of three children, her older siblings being Homer Harr and Nelva (Harr) Filegar. She grew up and spent her early years in Aberdeen. The family moved to Meadville Pennsylvania, where they lived for 13 years before they moved back and made Aberdeen their home.

On October 2, 1955, she married LeRoy Allen Schneider in Aberdeen, South Dakota. They moved to LeRoy’s family farm in Verona, North Dakota, where they lived for 50 years. Together they farmed, raised their two children, Robin and Hali Schneider, and attended many sporting events. Throughout her life, Shera was known for her amazing cooking and baking, her love of all NDSU Bison sporting events, and her dedication to her family.

Shera worked on the family farm, but also held positions at the Aberdeen Truck Terminal as a bookkeeper, at Verona High School as a lunch lady, and sold Avon for many years. Outside of work, she enjoyed baking, gardening, puzzles, crosswords, playing Bingo, watching Jeopardy, and attending anything her two granddaughters were involved in.

Shera is survived by her granddaughters Kayla (Sean) Beilke, and Paige Brademeyer, her great-grandson Liam Beilke, and her nieces Yvonne (Gary) Warne, Marjorie Ormand, Jeanne (Jack) Clarke, and Karen Filegar.

She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Schneider, her children Robin and Hali (Jon) Scheider, her parents Claude and Ruth Harr, and her siblings Homer Harr and Nelva Filegar.

There will be a prayer service to celebrate Shera on Thursday October 15th at Fredrikson Boulger Funeral Chapel in Kindred, North Dakota, with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM followed by the service at 7:00 PM.

A funeral service to honor Shera will be held on Friday October 16th at the Kindred Lutheran Church with visitation starting at 9:00 AM and the service following at 10:00 AM.

Shera will be put to rest at the Oakwood Cemetary in Lisbon ND.

Shera lived a long life full of time spent with friends and family. Although she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is with her husband and children once again.
