Shirley Ann Christianson, beloved wife, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on May 1, 1942, in New Rockford, ND, Shirley was the daughter of Roy and Elenore (Midboe) Eidoen.
Shirley’s life was one filled with love, compassion, and perseverance. After completing her education at Oak Grove High School in 1960, she pursued her passion for nursing and obtained her LPN from Wahpeton State School of Science. Her thirst for knowledge led her to the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.
On September 22, 1962, Shirley united in marriage with her loving husband, Charles Christianson. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Shirley’s adventurous spirit and love for nature were evident in her pastimes. She enjoyed the serenity of fishing and the thrill of playing fast-pitch softball. Sports held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in attending her grandchildren’s games, cheering them on with unwavering support. Her green thumb found solace in caring for her garden, particularly tending to her beautiful spring plants.
Shirley’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Christianson, Kindred, ND; children, Roger (Denise) Christianson, Fargo, ND, Renee Christianson, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Vance (Kayla) Christianson, Fargo ND; great-grandchildren, Blayke and Rusell Christianson, Fargo, ND; sister, Katherine Dykstra, Litchville, ND.

My sincere sympathy! Shirley was so fun..a great lady with a good sense of humor and a very kind spirit. I was not at Bethany volunteering since last Wed so when I returned today I was so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. God Bless. Joan Justesen, Bethany volunteer.
So very sorry for the loss of this lovely lady. We were neighbors in Hickson ND and I used to babysit Roger and Renee. In turn, Shirley used to babysit my first born, Cody, who is also in Heaven, having died from cancer also. Im sure they are having quite the reunion. Hugs and prayers for family and friends that were so blessed to have her in our lives.
Chuck and family so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. You have our deepest condolences.
