Shirley Weaver

Shirley Orn Weaver, 64, Fargo, ND died Saturday, December 8, 2007 in MeritCare Health System. Shirley A. Gibson the daughter of Samuel and Florence (Wickwire) Gibson was born January 20, 1943 at Oakes, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Fullerton, ND. Shirley graduated from Fullerton High School in 1961 and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. Shirley and Thomas Orn were married in Fargo on Feb. 13, 1965. The couple made Fargo their home and raised their family here. Shirley was a homemaker until her children entered school and then she began working for Prairie Public Broadcasting in Fargo in 1986; she was a volunteer coordinator retiring in 2000. Shirley continued to work part time at Prairie Public when the company held pledge drives. Her husband Tom died in 1995. Shirley Orn married Dennis Weaver in Fargo on August 19, 2000 in Fargo. The couple has lived here since. Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking, and camping. She was a meticulous housekeeper. She loved being with her family more than anything else. She was an active member of Church of the Nativity and Amvets Auxillary. Shirley is survived by her husband, Dennis; a son Lonnie (Donna) Orn, their children, Randy and Georgie, Fargo; a daughter, Lynea Nannenga and her children Christopher, Nathyn, Lane, and Teagan, Lamoure, ND; three- stepchildren, Douglas (Shannon) Weaver and their daughter Samantha, Plymouth, MN, Jason (Barb) Weaver and their children, Noah, Evan, and Sydney, Bismarck, ND and Alyssa (Chad) Johnson and their daughters, Isabella, Ava, and Savannah, Glyndon, MN; her mother, Florence Gibson, Oakes, ND; two sisters, Shari Gibson, Killdeer, ND and Janet Lulay, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; father, Samuel; sister, Judy Taylor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Duane and Lillian Weaver, Alfred and Ida Orn. Visitation: Tuesday, December 11, 2000 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Boulger Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Wednesday at the Church.
