Stanley Johnson

Stanley I. Johnson, 89 Fargo, ND died Monday, June 15, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Stanley I. Johnson was born in Edinburg, Lampton Township, ND January 18, 1920 to Morris and Hannah (Fosserud) Johnson. He attended a country school in Lampton Township. He farmed with his brother Helge near Edinburg. He was drafted into the Army in February 1942 and served in the SW Pacific area. He was discharged in August of 1945 and returned home. He married Nancy M. Pedersen on January 23, 1946. They resided and farmed in the Edinburg area until he retired in 1984. They moved to Fargo in October of 2006. He is survived by his spouse Nancy, daughters, Peggy (Dave) Monsebroten of Fargo, ND and Mavis (Duane) Oskey of Valrico, FL; 4 sons Harold (Robin) of Arlington, TX, Norman (Connie), of Cameron Park, CA, Larry (Kathy) of Pembina, ND and Glenn (Annette) of Yankton, SD. He also has 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren surviving him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris & Hannah Johnson, 2 sisters, Jennie Cleveland and Myrtle Cleveland, 4 brothers, Helge, Richard, Raymond and Gilman Johnson and 1 grandson Ross Monsebroten. The Memorial Service for Stanley will be 10:00am, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Hope Lutheran Church North Campus, Fargo, ND The Prayer Service will be Wednesday, June 17th at 7:00pm at Hope Lutheran Church, Fargo Visitation will be 1 hour before the Prayer Service and Memorial Service Graveside Services with Military Honors will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Garfield Cemetery, Edinburg, ND
