Steve N. Grindberg, 76, Fargo passed away Sunday, April 10 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Health, Fargo.

Steve was born October 7, 1934 in Mapleton, ND to Carl and Leona "Onie" Grindberg. Steve graduated from Mapleton High School in 1952. After graduation, Steve was drafted into the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in Hawaii. After his military service, Steve moved back home to Mapleton where he started work for Cass County in the drafting department. He then worked for Industrial Builders for two years before moving to the Cass County Highway Department where he worked for 38 years until his retirement in 1999.

On February 7, 1959 Steve married Diane Richard at St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo.

One of Steve's passions was fishing, especially at his lake home on Lake Lida. He enjoyed hunting, dancing, playing softball, basketball, woodcarving and working on his stained glass.

Steve is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane; children, Kimberly Jo Grindberg, Fargo, Brenda Grindberg, Fargo, brothers, Carl (Marlys) Grindberg, Davenport ND, David "Swede" (Carol) Grindberg, Turtle Lake MN, sisters, Charlotte (Art) Walker, West Fargo, Doris Johnson, West Fargo, Margaret (Bob) Turner, Fargo, Joyce Gilbertson, Hillsboro, Katie Schar, Bemidji MN.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lois Knecht, and brother, Marvin Grindberg.
