In Loving Memory of Steven Anthony Pergl

Steven Anthony Pergl, a hardworking and kind-hearted soul, passed away on October 29, 2023, at his cherished farmstead near Blanchard, ND. Born on January 6, 1957, in Detroit Lakes, MN, Steven was the son of James and Delora (Wille) Pergl.

Growing up in Mahnomen, MN, Steven received his education and developed a love for the outdoors. He later made his home in Hillsboro, ND, where he worked at the American Crystal Sugar Beet Plant for many years. Steven’s dedication and work ethic were evident as he also lent his skills to various local farms, including the Kraling and Lovas farms. In recent years, he found fulfillment working at the Peter and Angie Kritzberger farm near Hillsboro.

Outside of work, Steven cherished his time spent fishing and made occasional trips to the casino. However, his true passion lay within the solitude of his farm, where he found joy in the simple things life had to offer. Whether he was tending to the crops or working the land, Steven was happiest when he was outside, embracing the beauty of nature.

Steven Anthony Pergl leaves behind fond memories and a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his friends, fellow farmers, and community members. May Steven’s kind soul find eternal peace as he rejoins the great outdoors that he loved so dearly.

He is survived by his daughter, BriAnna (Terry) Lundon of Fargo; his son, Justin Salveson of Crookston, MN; his grandson, Wyatt Lundon; and his brother, Dave Pergl. Also surviving are his special friends and neighbors, Butch and Jackie Lovas and Peter and Angie Kritzberger. A very special thank you to them for the concern and love they have shown to Steve over the past years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Delora; his siblings – Janice, James Jr., Jack, and Kenneth.
