Steven Fendrick

Steven J. Fendrick, 89, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died there Friday, January 17, 2003. Steven J. Fendrick was born July 20, 1913, on a farm in Stark County north of Dickinson, ND. He grew up there and attended a country school. Steve married Julia A. Kubas on November 17, 1936, in Dickinson, ND. The couple lived in the Dickinson area. The family moved to Austin, MN, in 1955, and later to Owatonna, MN, returning to Dickinson in 1959. Steve worked for the Heatons Construction Company until 1963 when he began working as a custodian for the Jefferson Elementary School in Dickinson, where he worked until his retirement in 1970. The couple moved to Fargo in 1981. His wife Julia died in 1983. Steve married Hilda M. ìSidî Evje in June of 1984 in Fargo. He is survived by his wife Sid, who resides at Eventide; one son, Arthur A (Pat) Fendrick, Cicero, Indiana; one daughter, Luci (Keith) Carlson, Hawley, Minnesota; one step-daughter, Karen (James) Opgrand, Moorhead, Minnesota; one sister, Emma Kubas, Weiser, Idaho; one brother, Frank (Margaret) Fendrick, Billings, Montana; eight grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; five step-grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; three brothers, Joe, Tony, and Louie; and two sisters, Mary and Anna. Funeral Service: Friday 2:00 p.m. Bottolfson Chapel in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead. Visitation: Thursday 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Boulger Funeral Home.
