Steve was born on January 14, 1954, to Glenn and Mary Monson in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo South High School in 1971. Steve loved hunting and fishing of any kind, especially with his friend, Chico.
Steve started his construction career at Camrud Foss in Moorhead, Minnesota in the 70’s and worked for many construction companies over the years including, North Dakota, Minnesota, Arizona, California, Nevada, Idaho, and Colorado.
Steve had two sons, Brandon and Robert. He was a proud grandpa of two granddaughters, Annabell and Robin. He was showing everyone a video of them singing Happy Birthday to him and he had the biggest smile on his face and said they are the cutest girls in the world. Steve was known as “the kind” guy where he lived. He was always helping people out with food and would slip them some cash if they helped him in any way. Steve never forgot his struggles and always appreciated when people helped him and always gave back to anyone in need.
